In the Parramatta Diocese assistance is given of over $1 million per year. There are over 500 volunteer members of the Society in the Parramatta Diocese with 70 employees. The Society also assists at times of disasters, which include bushfires, floods etc. Under the State Government plan and working with other Agencies, the Society provides mattresses, blankets, toiletries, other items, as required to people who find themselves involved in a crisis situation. The Society is supported financially by donations, bequests, trading at its shops and primarily by the time that is given by its members volunteers. Some government support is given by grants to services, emergency relief and the supply of electricity vouchers. Most of the work in this Diocese is funded solely by the Society.
